Hawarden Park Cricket Club

Our Aim

To relocate Hawarden Park Cricket Club to Moor Lane, a location some 0.5 miles north of the current ground. The project will include new wicket and ground development, pavilion and practise wickets. It is understood that these developments will be staged as will the funding required to support this project. However it is crucial that the construction of the new wicket commences Spring/Summer 2010 so that cricket can be played on the new ground in the summer of 2012.

Hawarden Park Cricket Club has been playing cricket in its current location since 1866 with the kind permission of the Gladstone family. However when the Gladstone Estate developed a Farm Shop at the access point to the cricket club, security issues has been an ongoing problem with the Estate. It has reached a point that the Estate have asked the club to relocate to a new piece of land on the Estate, which also matches the club’s ambitions, as we recognise the new facilities are required to ensure the club continues for the next 100+ years
